MONTBLANC SOLITAIRE LE GRAND MEISTERSTUCK FOUNTAIN PEN AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS
The Meisterstück Around the World in 80 Days collection is inspired by Jules Verne's famous adventure novel Around the World in 80 Days. The Solitaire LeGrand fountain pen in black-stained wood draws inspiration from the second leg of the journey, from Bombay to Yokohama. The wood was chosen to pay homage to the moment when Fogg rescues Princess Auda from undergoing Sati. In this second adventurous stage, the protagonists travel on a majestic elephant, which appears in a cartouche on the hood. The body and cap bear an engraved motif with symbols. The clip sports a red lacquered ace of diamonds, and the cone is engraved with a motif inspired by Princess Auda's jewels and card suits. The top of the cap features embossing of the duration of the trip, 25 days from Bombay to Yokohama and 80 days in total. The writing instrument is complemented by a handmade 18K gold nib, decorated with a hot air balloon and bearing the dates 20/10 and 14/11: Fogg does, in fact, leave Bombay on 20 October at 8 p.m. and Yokohama on 14 November at 6 p.m.
